What is the
difference between an Osteopath and a
Physiotherapist ?
Physiotherapists help where movement and
function are threatened by the ageing
process or subsequent to injury or disease.
Osteopaths treat the whole person not just
the areas causing symptoms. This is because
osteopaths believe the cause often
originates in another part of the body.
Osteopathy is well know for its ability to
help with aches and pains but is also able
to help with a vast number of different
conditions in people of all ages, from
babies to the elderly.
What is the
difference between an Osteopath and a
Chiropractor?
The difference between osteopaths and
chiropractors stem from a difference in
philosophy. Osteopaths take blood
circulation carefully into account when
assessing patients.
Osteopaths treat muscles, ligaments, tendons
and other organs by aiding the body's
natural healing ability. Chiropractors focus
on the spine and the alignment of vertebrae
as the primary means of relieving pain.
Osteopaths also treat a broader range of
problems such as disorders to the
respiratory or digestive systems. Have a

Forms of Treatment page which details
more of our treatments.
